Washington D.C., CNN Indonesia — Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a bold and surprising plan to host a massive Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event on the White House lawn as part of the country’s 250th Independence Day celebration on July 4, 2026.

Speaking at a rally in Iowa, Trump shared his vision of transforming the iconic grounds of the White House into an arena for a historic fight that could draw thousands of spectators. He stated that the expansive space has enormous potential for hosting a once-in-a-lifetime event.

“we’ve got a lot of land there. It can be used for something extraordinary,” Trump said, as quoted by ESPN on Thursday morning (July 4, WIB).

Trump, known for his close ties with UFC President Dana White, has not yet revealed specific details about the match, such as which fighters would participate or how the event would be organized. However, he hinted that the fight could accommodate over 20,000 spectators and would be infused with patriotism and world-class entertainment.

“Just imagine — an epic fight, on the White House lawn, right in the heart of the capital. It will be historic,” Trump declared enthusiastically to his supporters.

In addition to the UFC fight, Trump highlighted a series of major events planned for the ‘America 250’ celebration. These include performances by young athletes, high school students, and activities across national parks and historical landmarks throughout the country.

According to Trump, this celebration is not only a moment of national pride but also an opportunity to educate the younger generation about the nation’s rich heritage.

“Every historic site we have will take part. This will be a celebration of unity, patriotism, and a tribute to our nation’s long journey,” he said.
